Tras la caída de unos misteriosos meteoritos, un virus mortal se está propagando por el planeta afectando sobre todo a la costa, por lo que la única forma de permanecer a salvo es en las montañas. Erik Wilman, es un científico que, tras la muerte de su hermana, decide investigar lo que está ocurriendo y averiguar la relación que tienen los meteoritos con unas enigmáticas esferas en la propagación de la pandemia.
En su camino, se encontrará con Mark, Clara y Eva, los cuales decidirán ayudarle y juntos tendrán que enfrentarse a situaciones complicadas, ya que en las montañas se ocultan unos peligrosos carroñeros dispuestos a todo por sobrevivir. Poco a poco, la relación entre los cuatro protagonistas se irá estrechando y se irán desvelando algunos secretos que les harán desconfiar de todo lo que les rodea. Si quieren conocer la verdad, tendrán que llegar hasta el final, aunque eso suponga poner en riesgo sus propias vidas.
