Después de acoger y «reeducar» a cientos de niños y niñas durante el franquismo, la Casa de la Beneficencia de Castellón ha desaparecido, llevándose los secretos de aquellos que convivieron entre sus muros. Hoy, los niños de la Beneficencia regresan al lugar de su infancia para romper con una vida de tabúes, revelar la otra cara del sistema de caridad franquista y reconstruir nuestra memoria colectiva.

After sheltering and «reeducating» hundreds of children during Francoism, the Casa de la Beneficencia de Castellón has disappeared, concealing the secrets of those who once lived within its walls. “The Silent Patio” brings back the children of the Beneficencia to the place of their childhood and gives them space to break a life of taboos, reveal the other side of the Francoist charity system and rebuild our collective memory.
