En la España gris y triste de la posguerra franquista Pascual Enguídanos escribió una poderosa saga de ciencia-ficción. Sin haber salido nunca de España, viajó con sus lectores por millones de mundos, creando una distopía que lo convertiría en el decano de este género. Pascual Enguídanos forma parte de un grupo de prolíficos escritores que triunfaron con los Bolsilibros y las novelas de «a duro», firmando con seudónimos americanos o ingleses tan exóticos como el propio contenido de los libros. Así, Pascual Enguídanos se convirtió en George H. White y Van S. Smith por exigencia de las editoriales de la época.
Desde 1950 hasta su retirada en 1978 Enguídanos publicó 368 títulos, 129 de ellos en el género de la ciencia-ficción, 149 del oeste, 47 novelas bélicas, 34 novelas policíacas y 9 novelas rosas.
In the grey and sad Spain of the Francoist post-war period, Pascual Enguídanos wrote a powerful science-fiction saga. Without ever leaving Spain, he travelled with his readers through millions of worlds, creating a dystopia that would make him the dean of this genre. Pascual Enguídanos is part of a group of prolific writers who triumphed with Bolsilibros and «a duro» novels, signing with American or English pseudonyms as exotic as the content of the books themselves. Thus, Pascual Enguídanos became George H. White and Van S. Smith at the request of the publishers of the time.
